Dr. Nada Berrada is an international development expert with over a decade of experience in advancing youth livelihoods, education, and workforce development across 25 countries, particularly within the green and blue economies. She holds a Ph.D. in Political Science and Social Studies from Virginia Tech, where her research examined how Moroccan youth navigate systemic barriers to education and employment.
At the Education Development Center (EDC), Nada co-leads the *Our World, Our Work* initiative, a 10-year mission to support 1 million youth—60% of them young women—transition into decent jobs in the green and blue economies. She has spearheaded the development of climate-smart curricula, benefiting over 15,000 students in Senegal, South Sudan, and Liberia, and co-authored specialized modules on climate change and blue and green economies for Indigenous youth in Indonesia and the Philippines. As part of the *Global Coalition for Skills for a Green Future*, Nada and others are working to integrate green skills into national climate and education agendas globally.
In addition to managing large-scale USAID projects focused on improving educational and employment outcomes for vulnerable youth, Nada has served as a youth delegate at the 75th United Nations General Assembly and as an African Union Youth Champion. Her contributions have been recognized in global forums such as COP28, UNGA, the IOM Global Diaspora Forum, and others, where she continues to advocate for youth employment, quality education, and sustainable development solutions.
