Travels and Accomodation

Travel Advisory

Traveling to Morrocco for the APF Conference? Please take note of the following essential visa details:

Morocco is a popular tourist destination, and many countries enjoy visa-free entry for stays ranging from 30 to 90 days. Verify your eligibility on the current visa-free list here. If your country is not listed, a visa application is required. Citizens of Congo, Guinea, and Mali can obtain electronic visas. Regardless of your country’s visa status, ensure your passport has at least two blank pages and six months of validity.

  • Complete the Morocco visa application form.
  • Gather required documents (i.e. your passport, passport-size pictures, return flight ticket, proof of accommodation, proof of sufficient financial means, travel insurance, and proof of paid Morocco visa fee.)
  • Submit all documents to the Moroccan embassy/consulate.
  • Pay the visa fee (The cost of a Visa for Single Entry which is valid for up to 90 days is 220 Moroccan Dirhams/25 dollars.)
  • Receive the visa before your travel.

Travelers holding valid multiple entry visas for certain countries have the opportunity to obtain a Moroccan e-visa with ease. This streamlined process offers convenience for those already possessing visas from select nations, facilitating their entry into Morocco.

Qualifying multiple entry visas include those issued by the following countries:

  • United States (US)
  • United Kingdom (UK)
  • Schengen Area countries
  • Ireland
  • Australia
  • New Zealand

By possessing any of the aforementioned visas, travelers are eligible to apply for a Moroccan e-visa, simplifying their travel arrangements.

For further details and to initiate the application process, please visit the Moroccan e-visa portal using the following link: Moroccan E-Visa Portal.

Upon payment of the conference registration fee, APF will provide you with a letter of introduction attesting to your attendance at the conference to aid you in your application.

No vaccinations such as yellow fever or COVID-19 are required for travel to Morocco. You are however advised to avoid drinking untreated tap water. Safe-to-drink water is easily accessible in hotels and riads in Morocco.

Morocco is a relatively conservative country, therefore it is advised that all participants dress modestly, particularly in religious sites such as mosques. Ask for permission before taking photos of people.

The local currency is the Moroccan Dirham (MAD). Exchange currency at authorized outlets and be aware that credit cards are not universally accepted, especially in rural areas.

Autumn begins around October in Morocco. Temperatures drop below 200C during the day. In desert cities like Marrakech, daytime temperatures can become as high as 29°C at times, but there are cooler days, as well. And evenings cool off to the point where you will be much happier if you have a sweater or light jacket to slip on after dark therefore it is advised that you pack accordingly.
