Folawe Omikunle is a social entrepreneur with over 15 years of experience in education, development, non-profit management, and sustainability. As the founding CEO of Teach For Nigeria, she led efforts to advance educational equity by building a movement of committed leaders. Folawe is a Fellow of the prestigious Archbishop Desmond Tutu Fellowship and has been recognized as a Top 10 Finalist for the Africa Education Medal in 2022, one of the 100 most inspiring Nigerian women by Leading Ladies Africa, and HER Network Education Woman of the Year in 2018.
She holds a Master’s degree in Diplomatic Studies from the University of Westminster, a bachelor’s degree in International Law and Diplomacy from Babcock University, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from the Corona College of Education. Additionally, she has earned Executive Certifications from Lagos Business School, Harvard University, and the Saïd Business School. Folawe serves on the boards of the Nigerian Breweries Education Trust Fund and Global School Leaders, driven by a belief that investing in human capital is key to unlocking Nigeria’s and Africa’s full potential through education.
