Hanifa Adan

Hanifa Adan holds a degree in journalism and mass communication and is currently pursuing a master’s degree. Her journey began with a volunteer role at a UN-accredited organization, where she wrote and edited impactful stories. She believes that journalism and advocacy are deeply interconnected, possessing the power to change lives and drive meaningful change.

Hanifa has utilized her social media platform to amplify important issues and initiate change whenever possible. For instance, she successfully raised over one million Kenyan shillings to assist victims of the 2024 floods in Kenya. More recently, she shared a publicly audited report detailing how 31 million Kenyan shillings was allocated to support victims of police brutality, including those in hospitals and the families of those who tragically lost their lives. She was able to raise over 31 million online in less than 24 hours, showcasing the incredible generosity of the community.

As a dedicated human rights advocate and activist, Hanifa continually seeks out solutions and is committed to taking the difficult path toward justice.
